- Toonami makes its grand return for Adult Swim's April Fools prank. The stunt would be well received, promoting the block to permanently return to Adult Swim, starting on May 27, 2012. To celebrate this, several shows air on the network's feed for the first time in years.
- Dragon Ball Z airs for the first time since March 22, 2008.
- Mobile Suit Gundam Wing airs for the first time since January 1, 2002.
- Tenchi Muyo! airs for the first time since May 19, 2002.
- Outlaw Star airs for the first time since December 1, 2002.
- Yu Yu Hakusho airs for the first time since April 1, 2006.
- Blue Submarine No. 6 airs for the first time since March 15, 2002, with this being the first time it has aired an individual episode since November 9, 2000.
- Trigun airs for the first time since August 6, 2006.
- Astro Boy airs for the first time since March 15, 2008.
- Gigantor airs for the first time since March 25, 2007.
- Additionally, this marks the last time Dragon Ball Z, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo!, Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue Submarine No. 6, Trigun, Astro Boy, and Gigantor have aired on the network's feed. However, the Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge and Trigun: Badlands Rumble movies would eventually air May 25, 2014 and December 29, 2013 respectively.
- Over at Cartoon Network, the channel plays the ever-so-present short Screwball Squirrel at 6:00am, and later at 11:45am to celebrate April Fools.
